Nissan LEAF Gets Compared to an Alaskan Snow Hare

Defying all the speculation, Bel Air Nissan in Bel Air, MD is proud to announce that the Nissan LEAF EV, although runs on electric power, can still power through snow and icy climates like a Snow Hare in Alaska.

After successfully navigating through a slick, powder covered test course in Shibetsu, Hokkaido, Japan, the Nissan LEAF EV proved itself to be worthy of its Alaskan Snow Hare comparison. The vigorous winter-test was performed at 230 meters above sea level, in ice, snow and temperatures below 16-degrees Fahrenheit. Having tread the course successfully with perfect performance and handling while maintaining an average battery temperature of between 41 and 50 degrees Farenheit, the optimal level of warmth, the vehicle seemed like it was ripe for the winter.

Chairman of Automobile Journalists Association of Japan had this to say about the Nissan LEAF's performance, "I feel the [Nissan] LEAF has been developed well, and incorporating the merits of the EV have made the car's characteristics more generous to drivers."1 citing the distinctive gentleness the LEAF gives drivers when they step on the accelerator as an example.

While the Nissan LEAF performed well for the approximately 60 journalists at the event, it's up to you to see the Nissan LEAF's winter performance yourself. For that, you can contact Bel Air Nissan in Bel Air, MD for a test drive in the Nissan LEAF EV or stop by our dealership on 1510 Bel Air Rd. today and visit us in person.
